RAINBOW THERAPY #1

In April 2026, I began sticking pieces of colored masking tape onto the exterior wall of my studio container. Before long, I was slapping entire rolls of tape right onto the wall. I just really didn’t want to sit at my desk doing computer work that day, and it was a purely impulsive move—partly to escape the screen, partly to cover up some ugly stains on the wall.
Right next to it, I wrote the title 〈Rainbow Therapy〉 by hand along with a few sentences:
"Temporary color-based relief. Results may vary. Until it peels off."
I didn't write anything like "Feel free to take and paste as much as you want" to invite people in. I never intended for this to be an interactive, participatory piece; I just figured a few passersby might casually peel and stick a piece or two. In fact, for the first few days, absolutely nothing happened.
But the day after I added a few more pieces of tape myself, the shift began. People started spontaneously peeling the tape and filling up the wall.
It went from simple straight lines to cute emojis, pieces stuck so high up that even a grown man could barely reach, and incredibly detailed 3D bouquets. Someone even spelled out the name of their favorite celebrity. Just like that, the yellow iron wall of the container began to overflow with everyone's diverse colors.
Watching that process unfold was a joy. But at the same time, I was anxious. "How on earth am I going to peel all this off later?"
I kept pushing back the removal date further and further from what I had originally planned. Finally, after about three weeks, I started tearing the tape down. For the most part, it was a tedious task spread over several days.
Then one day, as I was working on it by myself, three passersby approached me. They pitched in and helped so much that the job was nearly finished. One was Korean, and the other two were a couple traveling from India. As we peeled the tape together, we shared warm conversations about our lives and work.
I kept those torn clumps of masking tape for quite a while, because even that mess felt like a form of 'Rainbow Therapy.' And I thought to myself, "Never doing this again."
Yet here I am, at this very moment of writing this, running Rainbow Therapy No.2. Completely voluntarily.

"Temporary color-based reliefResults may vary.Until it peels off."
